RAHUL GOSWAMI

I am Rahul Goswami an experimental contemporary dancer and choreographer, based in India. I juggle between roles of a performer, choreographer and researcher in a variety of dance forms for the last 13 years. In this short span of my career I have had the opportunity to work with some great visionaries in the art industry on several grand-scale projects.

I have studied with David Zambrano Flying Low & Passing Through in ImpulsTanz and EXIN 2016 for one-month long in which I have deepen my experience and professional practice.

I have studied improvisation and composition as well as participated in performances under the direction of Katie duck movement research/composition/improvisation. Orgelpark church music recital hall, Amsterdam “Recital” under the direction of Katie Duck and Magpie Project.

Since 2011 I have been practicing physical techniques such as Flying Low & Passing Through, Release technique, Experiential anatomy, Choreography as well as Contact Improvisation with Vangelis Legakis who has invited me twice to participate at the International Interdisciplinary No Borders project that takes place each year during December in different countries and cities.

Also I have studied Indian Martial arts and creative movement work with Bhoomika Creative dance center ( Bharat Sharma and Tripura Kashyap ), Sadhya performing art ( Santosh Nair ), J.J Sai Babu and Rakesh Mps, Choreography, Composition work with Mandeep Raikhy.

My aim is to work with a variety of movement expressions and explore the possibilities of new ideas through improvisation work. As an Improvisation artist, I take spontaneous actions that represent different interpretations with indirect meanings through my performances.

I always believe that imagination can manifest into reality, into dance!
